Attica Zoological Park – Green Spaces
E-MAGAZINO

Yes! We have lions and tigers; we even have penguins! Trouble believing it? A visit at the Attica Zoological Park (www.atticapark.gr) in Spata will persuade you! There is also a “Dolphinarium”; a “Dinosaur City” and an “Oceanοcity”… What an impressive and educational visit, especially for the kids!

At Syntagma square, between the Parliament House and Zappeion, lies the National Garden covering an area of 158,000m2. There too, used to be many wild animals. All Athenians took our first walk there under enormous rare trees, feeding the ducks, swans and parrots; laughing at the monkeys and getting frightened by the lions… There are a few animals left in the National Garden today, but it still looks impressive to the eyes of a child. It’s the Athenians’ favorite escape spot for a few pleasant and relaxed hours, right in the heart of the city!

There are parks and green spots all over Athens (check: www.attiko-prasino.gr), though we regretfully admit that they are not enough…
