Acropolis Museum – Permanent Gallery Talks 2015

The Acropolis Museum gives visitors the opportunity to participate in presentations of selected exhibits held by Archaeologist–Hosts.

Additionally, Archaeologist-Hosts are available to answer your questions about the Museum exhibits every day between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Visitors can find them by looking for staff wearing ‘archaeologist’ badges in the Museum exhibition areas.

Permanent Gallery Talks are offered in English, in French and in Greek.

Samothrace. The mysteries of the Great Gods

 
The wild, mysterious and cool landscape of Samothrace has reached the Temporary Exhibition Gallery of the Acropolis Museum. Visitors will travel daily in the nature, the people and the island’s past, especially every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday, together with the Museum’s Archaeologist – Hosts.
 
The gallery talk ‘Samothrace. The mysteries of the Great Gods’ is part of the program Permanent Gallery Talks of the Acropolis Museum and it is organized on the occassion of the homonym temporary exhibition.
Until Sunday, 10 January, 2016
 
Greek: every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday, at 1 p.m.
English: every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday, at 11 a.m.
French: every last Sunday of the month, at 11 a.m.
 
Duration: 50 minutes
Participation: Participation is limited to 40 visitors per session. Coupons are available same-day on a first-in first-served basis. For further details, please refer to the Information Desk at the Museum entrance.
The gallery talk is free of charge. Entrance to the temporary exhibition is free of charge.
Meeting point: Glass Floor in front of ticket check-in.
 
Information about group visits
Groups (15 to 40 persons) can also follow the gallery talk ‘Samothrace. The Mysteries of the Great Gods’ in other days and hours (within Museum opening hours), upon telephone requestand depending on the availability of Museum Archaeologist-Hosts. Telephone reservations are possible every Tuesday and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., on +30 210 9000900 / int. 405.
 
 

The Great Gods of Samothrace and Athena of the Acropolis

 
Εvery Friday night, Museum visitors have the opportunity to participate in a journey to the sanctuary of the Great Gods of Samothrace and the sanctuary of Athena on the Acropolis. They will discover these two spaces, their divine protagonists, the myths, the rituals, the presence and aspirations of their ancient visitors, through archaeological finds, landscapes and sounds.
